In-Home Family Photography Sessions - Real Concerns and Successes from My Seattle Clients

It is no secret that in-home family sessions are my jam. I love window light, I love the comfort it brings to parents and kids alike. I love that the setting is meaningful and that we can always pop outside or go for a walk for even more variety. There is a magic that comes from in-home sessions that I just adore. What is a "Fresh 48" Photography Session and Why You Should Do It!

When I was pregnant with Rufus, I sort of knew what a fresh 48 was. I got that the gist was a photography session in the hospital right after your baby is born. The only photos I had seen from fresh 48 sessions though, were of bloggers and influencers with their hair and makeup done (usually professionally) looking fresh and perfect and frankly, unattainable. At the time those images and the idea that Rufus would just be a little squishy maybe not cute newborn was enough to turn me off of the idea.

Caitlin's Motherhood Story : Addiction, Light, and Showing Up

This week I was thinking about all of the beautiful mothers I photograph. They teach me so much. From weird parenting wins to feeling seen in this modern day motherhood thing, which can be isolating and scary at times. I have decided that my new goal is to share more of these stories. I want to learn more from these mamas. One of the biggest things that I think we lack these days is community. Yes, there is the internet and books, but knowledge and fb groups are not the same as the tight knit communities we used to raise children in, filled with many generations and support.
