Snapshots: Buffalo
Nature Photographs of Buffalo in the Snow
On the drive back from Leavenworth to Bellevue, we drove past a herd of buffalo, in the hazy bleak snow, and I had to see them. David pulled over and put the hazards on, and I trekked back a quarter mile with my camera to see them closer. They were huge, and very still. They slowly trudged along, eating something invisible to me at my vantage. An American symbol that encompasses tragedy, resourcefulness, and hope- it was a gift to see them like this.
